Cocktail Time is a comical novel following Wodehouse's popular character Uncle Fred, this being the third novel about Frederick Twisleton, the Earl of Ickenham.The beginning of the novel sees Uncle Fred suggesting to Bastable to write a novel exposing the immorality of the younger generation, the novel being called 'Cocktail Time'. Upon the publication of that novel it becomes a succes de scandale after a bishop condemns its contents. The ensuing plot follows Fred's wild chase after a letter which could blackmail himself the Bastable.
