Time for a trip down to the shops, don't you think? Little ones grow up so fast these days and they'll have to learn to shop for themselves one day, so why not get the practise in early! Let's see what they come back from the shops with!
Oh dear, looks like they've forgotten the shopping list! Disaster! You'll just have to make up tonights dinner from what they've bought. Ah good start: tomatoes, carrots and mushrooms: the base of a lovely tomato sauce! They've also picked up a chicken & mushroom pie; maybe we can make some English-Italian fusion dishes?
Looks like it gets worse as we go on though... Corn flakes with no milk, laundry tablets with no detergent, asparagus soup!? Can't wait for that to sit in the cupboard for years to come...
Maybe it was to soon to let them loose in Waitrose, but at least it's the experience that counts! Plus, you'll have great memories of your time together and their first big shop! Something to look back on and laugh in years to come.
